Kwara United Queens FC will officially begin preparations for their maiden Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) season when players resume camping on June 26.
The club's Secretary, Mardiyyah Yusuf, disclosed that all invited players are expected to arrive at the team's camp between June 26 and June 28 ahead of the 2026/2027 campaign.
Yusuf stressed that the club would enforce strict disciplinary measures regarding resumption, warning that any player who fails to report to camp on or before June 29 would be automatically excluded from the squad.
According to her, the directive is aimed at ensuring the team has sufficient time to prepare adequately for the NWFL season, which is scheduled to kick off in August 2026.
She urged all invited players to comply with the resumption schedule and demonstrate commitment to the club's ambitions ahead of its first-ever appearance in Nigeria's top-flight women's football league.
The camping programme follows the recent approval and endorsement of the establishment of Kwara United Queens FC by the Kwara State Government, a development expected to strengthen women's football in the state and provide a platform for talented female players to compete at the highest domestic level.
The upcoming training camp marks a crucial milestone for the club as they transition into the elite division of Nigerian women's football. With the firm backing of the Kwara State Government, management is focused on instilling maximum discipline to guarantee a successful debut season. Fans can look forward to a structured preparation phase ahead of the highly anticipated league kickoff in August.
