Kwara United Queens Impress National U-17 Coach with Two Wins

The remarkable depth of the Kwara United Queens squad was on full display on Saturday at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium, as the team split into two separate lineups and secured an impressive pair of victories over local rivals.

Rather than fielding a traditional starting eleven, the "Courageous Queens" divided their players into Team A and Team B. The tactical decision paid off, demonstrating that the club's second-string players are just as capable and competitive as the regular starters.

Team A set the tone with a convincing 2-0 victory over Model Queens, inspired by a superb brace from Tolu Omoniyi. Team B then followed with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Kwara Ladies United, with Halimat Shehu scoring the decisive goal.

The invitational matches marked the grand finale of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) Kwara State Chapter Development Seminar, providing an ideal platform for players to showcase their abilities.

The event was further boosted by the presence of Nigeria U-17 Women's National Team Head Coach, Akeem Busari, who watched the matches closely as part of his talent identification programme.

By defeating two different opponents with separate squads on the same day, Kwara United Queens sent a strong message to the national scouting network. The performances highlighted the club's impressive squad depth and reinforced its readiness for the upcoming competitive season.
