Kwara FA Boss, Club Officials Charge ABS FC to Secure NNL Status

Posted : 10 June 2025

The Director of Football at ABS Ilorin Football Club, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, alongside the Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, Malam Idris Musa Abdullahi (Thuraya), has issued a rallying call to the team ahead of their decisive final home fixture against Kun Khalifa FC in the Nigeria National League (NNL).

ABS Ilorin FC will face Kun Khalifa FC on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbow / Major General George Innih Stadium in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Speaking to the players and technical crew during the team’s Salah get-together at Henry George Hotel, Chukwuemeka emphasized the importance of the upcoming match, stating that a win would not only earn three vital points but also guarantee the club’s continued status in the professional league.

He also conveyed a goodwill message from the club’s proprietor, His Excellency Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who commended the players for their consistent efforts and improved performances throughout the season.

“Our Proprietor, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has been monitoring your progress. Previously, he used to gift us a ram for Salah, but due to your outstanding efforts, he upgraded the gift to a cow in recognition of your improvement,” Chief Chukwuemeka noted.

He further announced that the players’ Salah celebration package, including the cow, would be made available upon their return from Abakaliki.

In a major morale boost, Chukwuemeka revealed that all outstanding player bonuses and salaries had been approved and would be disbursed by 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

“His Excellency has assured you of his full support. This is a mandate—not just to beat Kun Khalifa, but to beat them convincingly,” he added.

Malam Thuraya echoed the message, calling for total commitment from the players and stressing that Saturday’s game is pivotal to the future of the club.

The leadership also reiterated their commitment to supporting the players' careers:

“The ABS Ilorin FC platform was created to help young players develop through football. His Excellency remains dedicated to ensuring the club eventually reaches the Premier League. With your dedication, we believe this dream is achievable.”

ABS Ilorin FC is calling on all fans and supporters to come out in full force this Saturday to back the team as they fight to maintain their Nigeria National League status.
