Kun Khalifat FC, despite a challenging debut season in the NPFL, remain determined to retain their top-flight status.
Kun Khalifat FC have reaffirmed their determination to maintain their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) status at the end of the 2025/2026 season despite enduring a mixed start in their debut campaign in the elite division.
The Owerri-based side made headlines last weekend after securing a historic 1–0 victory over nine-time NPFL champions, Enyimba International FC.
However, the club has maintained that they are not getting carried away by that result.
“We are not feeling comfortable anytime soon! We are not thinking we have arrived. It’s not yet Uhuru,” the Owerri club posted on X.
“We pray to finish the season the same way we planned — by approaching every game like a final. We remain committed to the promise we made to the Imolites and our dear fans. We will fight till the end of NPFL 2026.”
Kun Khalifat FC have so far collected eight points from eight matches this season and will be looking to build on their momentum when they visit Bayelsa United FC for their Match Day 9 fixture at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, on Sunday.
