Katsina United vs Barau FC: High-Stakes NPFL Clash Looms on Matchday 12

High-flying Katsina United will welcome struggling Barau FC to the Mohammed Dikko Stadium on Matchday 12 of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League, with both sides chasing pride and vital points.

 

The Changi Boys are riding a wave of confidence after holding Shooting Stars SC to a 1-1 draw in Ibadan — a result celebrated by supporters and management alike. In recognition of the spirited away performance, the Katsina State Sports Commissioner, Surajo Yazid Abukur, alongside club chairman Surajo Malumfashi, awarded the players a ₦520,000 cash bonus. Abukur praised the team’s resilience and reaffirmed the state’s continued backing as the race for top-flight success intensifies.

 

While Katsina United aim to build on their solid form, newly-promoted Barau FC have struggled in their debut NPFL season. The Maliya Boys have managed just two wins from 10 matches and remain rooted in 19th place on the league table.
