Ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Katsina United FC announced that it had cleared five months of outstanding salaries for all newly recruited players and placed them on the state salary structure.
The Club Chairman and Supervising Coordinator, Surajo Malumfashi, disclosed this in an interview following the completion of data capturing for all players. He acknowledged the commitment of the state governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, for approving the funds to settle all outstanding salaries owed to the players.
Malumfashi also commended the state Sports Commissioner, Surajo Yazid Abukur, for ensuring the smooth running of the club. He noted that all club players, technical staff, and backroom personnel are now included in the state government salary structure and will receive their entitlements at the end of every month.
In addition, Malumfashi revealed that over 100 state homegrown players from Team B and the U-19 squad have also been enrolled in the salary scheme, with none earning less than fifty thousand naira (₦50,000). He described the initiative as commendable and motivational, marking the first time such a program has been implemented in the state’s football history.
Surajo Malumfashi further reaffirmed his commitment to guiding Katsina United to victories in both home and away matches, complementing the state’s support for the club.
