Kareem Tunde Completes West Brom Move After Leaving Levante

Kareem Tunde has officially completed his move to West Bromwich Albion after the Championship club confirmed the signing of the Nigerian-eligible winger. The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Baggies after leaving Spanish top-flight side Levante.

Levante confirmed that they had reached an agreement with West Brom for Tunde's transfer. The winger leaves the Spanish club after making 22 appearances in La Liga.

Tunde joined Levante in the 2022/23 season after developing in Barcelona's youth system. He previously spent time with Espanyol and CF Damm before moving to Levante's Juvenil A side.

His first season with Levante's youth team ended with a league title in the División de Honor. He later progressed to Atlético Levante before earning his opportunity with the senior team.

The winger made his first-team debut on December 20, 2025, against Real Sociedad. He subsequently became a more regular option under manager Luís Castro and ended the campaign with 22 La Liga appearances.

Tunde started 17 of those league matches last season. He did not score but provided one assist as Levante secured their top-flight status after a difficult campaign.

The transfer represents a significant financial boost for Levante. Reports from Spain indicate that West Brom will pay about €3 million initially, with additional performance-related payments potentially increasing the value of the deal. Levante are also understood to have retained a percentage of any future transfer.

Tunde was born in Barcelona and has Nigerian heritage through his father. His background means he is eligible to represent the Super Eagles, although he has not yet made his senior international debut for Nigeria.

His development has attracted attention because of his connection with La Masia, Barcelona's renowned youth academy. Tunde joined the Barcelona setup as a teenager after previously developing at Espanyol, before continuing his education at CF Damm.

The move to England gives the young winger a fresh challenge in the Championship. West Brom have added Tunde to an attacking group as they look to compete strongly in the second tier and push for a return to the Premier League.

Tunde has already had an introduction to his new surroundings. He watched from the stands as West Brom suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

The Nigerian-eligible forward will now look to establish himself at The Hawthorns and build on his breakthrough season in Spain. His four-year agreement gives him a long-term opportunity to develop his career in English football.
