Kano Pillars Unveil Five New Signings for 2026/27 NPFL Season

Kano Pillars have continued their preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League season by unveiling five new signings as the club intensifies its rebuilding project under newly appointed head coach Daniel Ogunmodede.

The four-time NPFL champions confirmed the arrivals of defender Tejiri Emonena, attacking midfielder Abdulraheem Shola, left-back Oloye Felix, goalkeeper Abdallah Sulaiman and defensive midfielder Zayyad Musa.

The new additions are expected to strengthen key areas of the squad and provide greater competition for places as Ogunmodede assembles a team capable of challenging for major honours in the upcoming campaign.

As part of the club's long-term development plans, Emonena, Shola, Felix and Zayyad have each signed two-year contracts with the Sai Masu Gida. Kano Pillars did not disclose the length of Sulaiman's contract.

The recruitment drive reflects the club's ambition to return to the top of Nigerian football after falling short of title contention in recent seasons. Ogunmodede has been entrusted with leading the rebuilding process following his appointment as head coach and has wasted little time in reshaping the squad.

Each of the five signings brings quality and depth to different positions. Emonena is expected to reinforce the defence, while Felix provides another option at left-back. Shola will strengthen the attacking midfield department, Zayyad adds protection in midfield, and Sulaiman increases competition in the goalkeeping position.

Kano Pillars have remained active in the transfer market as they prepare for the new NPFL season. The club is focused on building a balanced squad capable of competing consistently throughout the campaign and challenging for domestic honours.

Supporters will be hoping the latest arrivals can make an immediate impact as the Sai Masu Gida seek to re-establish themselves among the league's leading clubs. More transfer activity is expected before the start of the new season as Ogunmodede continues to fine-tune his squad.
