Kano Pillars FC have announced a major ₦100 million partnership agreement with Radio France Internationale (RFI) Hausa to enhance the club’s development, operations, and media visibility.
The deal was officially unveiled at a ceremony held at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, with officials from both organisations in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Kano Pillars General Manager and former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa, who signed on behalf of the club, described the agreement as a significant milestone.
“RFI is offering far more than we expected. They are contributing ₦45 million in cash, along with a support package valued at around ₦100 million,” Musa said.
He explained that the one-year partnership includes ₦45 million in cash and ₦55 million in equipment and services. The support package covers digital media equipment such as cameras and computers, monthly media team training, and new jerseys sponsored by RFI Hausa.
A prototype of the new jersey, incorporating traditional Kano designs, was also unveiled during the event.
Musa called on other individuals and organisations to follow RFI Hausa’s example by partnering with Kano Pillars to promote football development in the state.
Speaking on behalf of RFI Hausa, Director and Chief Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Penny, said the partnership aims to elevate the club’s profile on an international scale.
“This partnership goes beyond placing our logo on jerseys. It is about supporting the club’s heritage and contributing to its growth,” Penny said.
He highlighted that RFI Hausa, with over 1.6 million Facebook followers and nearly 800,000 on TikTok, would assist the club in content creation and digital media expansion.
“This is RFI’s first football sponsorship in its history. We are here to support Ahmed Musa’s visionary leadership and help propel one of Nigeria’s most storied football clubs to greater heights,” he added.
The agreement extends to all tiers of the club’s structure, including the senior team, second team, Junior Pillars, and youth teams in the U-13, U-15, and U-19 categories.
