Kano Pillars announce end of 2024/2025 season activities

Posted : 28 May 2025

The management of Kano Pillars on Wednesday announced the end of the activities for the 2024/2025 football season, while the team also thanked the players for their commitment.

The management also expressed gratitude to the sponsors, technical crew, fans, and other stakeholders of the club.

Recall that Sai Masu Gida finished the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season in 9th position on the log with 53 points, having 15 wins, 8 draws, and 15 losses.

The team was also eliminated in the Round of 16 of the 2025 President Federation Cup by Rangers International FC.

The four-time league-winning club, however, analyzed the season as a fair one, looking ahead to a better season ahead.

“The Management of Kano Pillars FC, under the able leadership of our Chairman, Ali Muhammad Umar (popularly known as Nayara Mai Samba Kurna), extends heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of our 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.

“First and foremost, we express our profound gratitude to the Kano State Government, under the visionary leadership of Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, whose unwavering support served as the backbone of our journey throughout the season.

“Special appreciation goes to our principal sponsor, RAMBO Insecticide, whose continuous partnership and generous backing helped push the club through the challenges of a demanding league season. Your investment in Sai Masu Gida remains invaluable.

“We are equally grateful to members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, particularly the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, for their tireless coverage, dedication, and professionalism in keeping our fans and supporters informed and inspired all season long.

“To our dedicated fans, both at home and across the country, we see you, we feel you, and we owe you.

“Rain or shine, your unmatched loyalty and passionate support never wavered. Without your voices in the stands and your prayers from afar, our achievements would not have been possible.

“Despite a challenging start marked by late preparations and the late appointment of a technical adviser, Kano Pillars FC emerged as one of the most exciting teams of the season, finishing 9th on the NPFL table with 53 points from 38 matches — a six-point improvement from the previous campaign.

“We were also among the highest-scoring sides and distinguished ourselves with multiple away victories, a feat achieved by only a few clubs this season.

“Now, as the curtains fall on 2024/2025, the work for next season has already begun.

“We are fully committed to rebuilding a stronger squad, one that can not only challenge for the NPFL title but also go all the way in the FA Cup.

“The recruitment process is ongoing, with strategic additions aimed at returning the club to the pinnacle of Nigerian football.

“With the continued support of the Kano State Government, the Commissioner, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, our sponsors, the media, and our supporters, 2025/2026 will be a defining season for our dear club, Kano Pillars FC.

“We are determined to wipe the tears of our loyal fans and deliver a season filled with joy, trophies, and pride.

“We thank you all once again. The journey has just begun.”
