Juventus made it two wins from two at the start of the 2026/27 Serie A season with a 2-0 victory over Parma on Saturday, while Fiorentina's centenary celebrations were spoiled by a 3-0 home defeat to newly promoted Frosinone.

Luciano Spalletti's Juventus had to work hard for the three points, with second-half goals from substitutes Nicolás González and Teun Koopmeiners eventually settling the contest.

The first half ended goalless despite Juventus dominating possession and creating several opportunities. González was introduced in the 57th minute and broke the deadlock five minutes later, while Koopmeiners came off the bench late in the game to seal the victory in the 88th minute.

The result gives Juventus a perfect start to the campaign as they look to recover from a disappointing 2025/26 season in which they finished sixth and missed out on Champions League qualification.

It was also Juventus' second consecutive clean sheet, while new goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario recorded another shutout following his summer arrival from Tottenham.

The Turin giants have not won the Scudetto since claiming their ninth consecutive league title in 2020, but their early-season form will provide encouragement as they look to challenge for honours again.

González, who returned to Juventus after an impressive loan spell at Atlético Madrid, was delighted to make an immediate impact.

"I missed this jersey, so I am happy because to score and get a victory, it makes me go home content."

Fiorentina's Centenary Party Spoiled

Fiorentina's celebrations of their 100th anniversary ended in disappointment as newly promoted Frosinone secured a convincing 3-0 victory at the Artemio Franchi.

Club legends, including Gabriel Batistuta and Claudio Ranieri, were in attendance for the occasion, but Fiorentina were unable to respond to their heavy 4-0 defeat at Roma in their opening match.

Antonio Raimondo scored twice for Frosinone, while Gabriele Bracaglia was also on target as the visitors secured a memorable away victory.

The result leaves Fiorentina with back-to-back defeats to begin the season, following a campaign in which they flirted with relegation before finishing 15th.

Italian World Cup winner Fabio Grosso took over from Paolo Vanoli as head coach in June, while the club also made several additions to the squad, including Christ Inao Oulai, Arthur Atta and Mateo Pellegrino.

However, the changes have yet to produce the desired results, with Fiorentina struggling at the foot of the early Serie A standings.

Elsewhere, AC Milan defeated Venezia 2-0 on Friday to also maintain a perfect start, while Juventus joined the Rossoneri on six points after their victory over Parma.
