Justin Njinmah is approaching the 2025–26 Bundesliga season with renewed ambition as he looks to establish himself under Werder Bremen's newly appointed head coach, Horst Steffen.
The 24-year-old forward, who extended his contract with the club through 2027, is seen as a promising talent within Bremen’s ranks. Following a season disrupted by injury and illness, Njinmah is now fully fit and determined to secure a consistent starting role.
Appointed in May, Steffen brings a fresh tactical approach to the side, and Njinmah is hoping to thrive under his leadership. Known for his pace and direct attacking style, the German-born striker with Nigerian heritage has impressed when called upon, including a goal just minutes into his Bundesliga return last August.
Last season, Njinmah featured in 26 Bundesliga matches and scored six goals, despite facing lengthy absences due to hip and ankle problems. With a clean bill of health and full pre-season ahead, he enters the new campaign as one of the players to watch in Bremen’s squad.
Internationally, Njinmah remains eligible to represent both Germany and Nigeria. While he has yet to make a senior appearance for either, both nations are reportedly monitoring his development. The Super Eagles have expressed interest in securing his commitment, while Germany remains an option should his Bundesliga performances continue to improve.
For Njinmah, the 2025–26 season represents a crucial opportunity. With the trust of a new coach, a renewed sense of confidence, and the ambition to play at the highest level internationally, he is now focused on delivering consistent performances to elevate his club and potentially secure a place on the international stage.
