Jose Mourinho praises Osimhen as a fantastic Galatasaray signing

Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea manager, has lauded Victor Osimhen’s transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray on a season-long loan, describing it as an exceptional move for both the Turkish Super Lig and the club. Mourinho highlighted Osimhen's outstanding quality and skill, emphasizing that the Nigerian forward can significantly impact any team.


Mourinho expressed that if he were managing a team with the budget to spend between €70-75 million, Osimhen would be his top choice. He also shared a personal insight, mentioning that despite his admiration for Osimhen’s abilities, he is not fond of how often the player falls during matches.


The relationship between Mourinho and Osimhen dates back to their Serie A encounters when Mourinho was at AS Roma. A memorable instance involved a brief but significant exchange between them on the sidelines during a match.


After the game, Mourinho likened Osimhen to Didier Drogba, a comparison that had a profound impact on the Nigerian striker. Osimhen acknowledged the praise, noting that receiving such high regard from a manager of Mourinho's stature was incredibly motivating.


Osimhen, although yet to debut for Galatasaray, made a notable contribution upon joining the Super Eagles camp by scoring in Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic—his first goal since January.


As Osimhen prepares to return to Istanbul, the 25-year-old striker is determined to continue his excellent form and make a significant impact in the Turkish league.
