The Jordan Football Association has announced a 26-man roster for the upcoming four-team friendly tournament, with the standout name being Musa Al-Taamari; the Rennes forward has registered 11 goal involvements, four goals and seven assists, across 28 all-competition appearances this season. Al-Taamari's inclusion is no surprise given his form. The winger was on target against Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in a Ligue 1 fixture last month.
Moroccan coach Jamal Sellami has assembled a balanced group of three goalkeepers, seven defenders, nine midfielders, and seven forwards. Also notable in the forward line is Mohammad Abu Zrayq, who plays his club football for Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca. The squad features players spread across clubs in Jordan, Malaysia, South Korea, Iraq, Croatia, and Egypt, reflecting the growing footprint of Jordanian football internationally.
Jordan qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 5, 2025, securing their first-ever berth with a 3-0 away win over Oman. They will compete in Group J at the tournament alongside Algeria, Argentina, and Austria. These friendlies form a key part of their World Cup preparation, with further warm-up games scheduled ahead of the tournament.
The tournament was originally billed for Amman, the capital of Jordan, but security concerns stemming from the current situation in the Middle East forced organisers to relocate it to Antalya, Turkey. Nigeria will face Iran in their opening game on Friday, March 27, while Jordan will take on Costa Rica on the same day. The round of matches concludes on March 31, when the Super Eagles meet Jordan and Iran face Costa Rica.
For Nigeria, the fixtures serve a different purpose. Coach Eric Chelle will use the window to begin the second phase of his rebuilding process following the Super Eagles' third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Jordan's final pre-World Cup camp is set for May and June, with matches against Switzerland on May 31 in St. Gallen and Colombia on June 7 in San Diego.
