Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp has recalled experienced striker Niclas Füllkrug to his 24-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Serbia and the Netherlands. Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Wael Mohya has also received his first senior international call-up after impressing with his performances this season.
Füllkrug's return follows an impressive start to the 2026-27 campaign with Werder Bremen, where he has emerged as one of the Bundesliga's leading goalscorers. The 33-year-old, who is on loan from West Ham United, has scored nine league goals and earned another opportunity to represent his country after being absent from the national team for more than a year.
Mohya is another notable inclusion in Klopp's selection. The 17-year-old has attracted attention with his performances for Mönchengladbach and becomes one of the youngest players to receive a senior call-up under the German coach. His promotion reflects Klopp's intention to introduce promising young players while retaining experienced figures in the squad.
The latest selection represents a significant reduction from Klopp's initial 44-player group, which he assembled to assess the depth of talent available to Germany. Several established names, including Nick Woltemade, Karim Adeyemi, Nadiem Amiri and David Raum, have been left out. Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry remain unavailable as they continue their recovery from long-term injuries.
Klopp acknowledged that reducing the squad had been challenging because of the number of players who had impressed in recent months. He welcomed the increased competition for places, explaining that having more quality available made selection decisions difficult but ultimately benefited the national team.
Germany will begin their November fixtures with an away meeting against Serbia in Belgrade on November 13. They will then return home to face the Netherlands at Berlin's Olympiastadion on November 16, with both matches forming part of the final round of Nations League group fixtures.
