Inter Pursue Romero as Real Madrid Weigh Tchouaméni Exit

Inter Milan have stepped up talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the possible signing of Argentine defender Cristian Romero, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Negotiations remain difficult, but Inter are pushing to reach an agreement before the summer transfer window closes.

Romero is expected to leave Tottenham following the club's defensive rebuild. Spurs have strengthened their back line with the arrivals of Marcos Senesi and Poul van Heecke, increasing speculation that the World Cup winner could move on after several successful seasons in North London.

Barcelona are also monitoring Romero's situation. However, the Spanish champions are not yet in a position to make a formal move because they must first reduce their squad by selling defenders. Reports in Spain suggest Barcelona's priority defensive target remains Aymeric Laporte, although Romero continues to feature on their shortlist should circumstances change.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid could be prepared to part ways with French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni this summer. Reports from England claim Manchester United have shown strong interest in the 26-year-old as they continue to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.

Tchouaméni has remained an important member of Madrid's squad since joining from AS Monaco, but competition for places has intensified. A suitable offer could persuade the Spanish giants to consider a sale if it aligns with their long-term plans.

Fellow French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is also facing uncertainty over his future at the Santiago Bernabéu. According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, Camavinga must impress during Real Madrid's pre-season preparations to secure his place in the squad. Although previous reports linked him with a possible exit, the club will reportedly make a final assessment after evaluating his performances in training and friendly matches.

In Italy, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has dismissed immediate concerns over the futures of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku. Both Belgian internationals remain part of the Serie A club's plans despite recent speculation.

Manna acknowledged that De Bruyne's recent comments regarding former Napoli manager Antonio Conte were not well received by the club. However, he confirmed that discussions would take place once the midfielder returns from his holiday. De Bruyne still has one year remaining on his contract, and Napoli are not planning an immediate departure.

Lukaku's position also remains unchanged, with Napoli continuing to view the experienced striker as an important member of their squad heading into the new campaign.
