Inter Miami's club president, Jorge Mas, has confirmed that former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba will be joining the team alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. The 34-year-old full-back has already signed a contract and is set to be available for the match against Atlanta on Tuesday.
Alba, who departed Barcelona when his contract expired last summer, enjoyed a successful decade-long stint with the Spanish giants, amassing 27 goals in 459 appearances. He played a key role in securing six La Liga titles and helped Barcelona win the Champions League in 2015.
Both Lionel Messi, the Argentine World Cup winner, and Spain's Sergio Busquets have already made the move to Major League Soccer in the United States.
They signed contracts until 2025 and were warmly welcomed by approximately 20,000 Inter Miami fans during a presentation at the DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday, accompanied by co-owner and former England captain, David Beckham.
Messi, a seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, has begun training with his new Miami teammates, and fans eagerly anticipate his debut on Friday in a Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul from Mexico City.
With the trio of Messi, Busquets, and now Alba, Inter Miami is assembling a star-studded lineup that is bound to create excitement and draw attention in the MLS.
