Ikorodu City Football Academy emerged champions of the 2025 1xBet Grassroots Football Competition after defeating Inspire Sports Academy Greater Tomorrow.
Ikorodu City Football Academy have been crowned champions of the 2025 1xBet Grassroots Football Competition, claiming the ₦10 million grand prize after a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Inspire Sports Academy Greater Tomorrow Feeders Team (ISAGT) in the final played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
The thrilling encounter saw both sides create several scoring opportunities, but it was Emmanuel Orji who made the difference for Ikorodu City FA. His second-half strike proved decisive, sealing victory for his side and sparking celebrations among players, coaches, and fans.
ISAGT, who finished as runners-up, earned a ₦5 million cash prize, while Dosu Joseph FC claimed third place and received ₦3 million for their efforts.
Several individual honours were also handed out to exceptional performers throughout the tournament. Uche Emeribe won the Highest Goal Scorer award alongside a ₦300,000 prize, while Abdullahi Sulaiman of Ikorodu City FA was named Best Goalkeeper, receiving ₦200,000.
The competition’s Best Coach award went to Wellington Egor of Ikorodu City FA, who was rewarded with ₦300,000, while Adewale Quadri of Nath Boys took home the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title and ₦300,000.
In addition, ISAGT was recognized as the Best Team, and Ikorodu City FA earned the Team of the Tournament honour, both accompanied by ₦300,000 prizes. Dosu Joseph FC also won the Highlight of the Tournament award worth ₦250,000.
