Horoya AC Stage Second-Half Comeback to Beat Djoliba AC 2-1

Horoya AC delivered their first win of the West Africa Champions Cup with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over title-holders Djoliba AC, bouncing back from an opening-day loss to Stade Malien de Bamako. The Guinean champions started brightly, dominating possession from the outset and taking an early lead through winger Lansana Sylla in the 5th minute.

The two sides then settled into an even contest before Djoliba capitalized on a mix-up inside the box to level matters through Ladji Sidibé in the 42nd minute, sending both teams into the break locked at 1-1. Horoya's coach turned to his bench after the restart, introducing Alya Touré and Mamadi Mara, both of whom quickly made an impact and won a free-kick near the edge of the area. Aboubacar Sylla stepped up to take it, and Yero Bhoye Bah finished superbly to restore Horoya's lead in the 2-1 win that ultimately held to the final whistle.

The result marks a significant statement for Horoya, who needed a response after their opening setback and got exactly that against a Djoliba side chasing back-to-back WACC titles.

As for FC Diarra vs FC Nzidane, both sides went into the fixture searching for their first win — FC Diarra after a goalless draw with Hafia FC, and FC Nzidane following a 2-0 opening defeat to Djoliba AC.
