Heartland FC gives update on Dan Anyiam Stadium, says stadium's lush green pitch ready

A top official from the management of Heartland FC has disclosed that the club has complied with the directives of the Nigeria Professional Football League to upgrade the playing surface of the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri, and they are now awaiting approval from the league body to return to their actual home ground.


The NPFL had imposed a ban on the use of the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri for league matches starting from the beginning of the second half of the ongoing season. However, the Naze Millionaires promptly took action, with the support of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and the playing surface has been restored to its proper condition.


The management of the Owerri-based club enlisted the services of a reputable maintenance agency to carry out necessary work on the pitch, resulting in its current lush green state. Fans of the club have expressed their excitement about the improved condition of the pitch and are urging the NPFL to grant approval for their return.


The maintenance work on the turf was conducted in accordance with international best practices to enhance the playing surface and meet required standards.


The club is now awaiting confirmation from the league body to allow the Naze Millionaires to resume playing at their home ground for the remainder of the season, starting with the upcoming match against Sporting Lagos on the weekend.
