Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season: Wikki Tourists Eliminate Kano Pillars, Book Semi-Final Berth

Wikki Tourists FC continued their impressive run at the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-Season Tournament in Katsina with a 2–0 victory over Kano Pillars to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Bauchi-based outfit produced a disciplined tactical display at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, keeping Kano Pillars at bay while making the most of their opportunities in a decisive quarter-final clash.

Wikki Tourists broke the deadlock shortly before half-time when Hassan Musa struck in the 40th minute to give his side a 1–0 lead at the interval.

Kano Pillars resumed the second half with greater urgency in search of an equaliser, but Wikki Tourists remained organised and posed a threat on the counter-attack.

Their resilience was rewarded again in the 60th minute when Abba Khalid doubled their advantage, leaving Pillars with a difficult task of finding a way back into the contest.

The Kano-based side pushed forward in the closing stages but could not breach the Tourists’ defence, as the Bauchi club comfortably protected its advantage until the final whistle.

The victory sends Wikki Tourists into the last four of the competition and ends Kano Pillars’ campaign. The Bauchi outfit will now await their semi-final opponent as they continue their preparations for the new season.
