Harry Kane Begins Talks to Extend Bayern Munich Contract Beyond 2027

Harry Kane has confirmed that negotiations have begun over a potential contract extension with Bayern Munich, opening the door for the England captain to remain at the Bundesliga giants beyond 2027.

The 33-year-old made the revelation after Bayern launched their Bundesliga title defence with an impressive 5-1 victory over Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. Kane revealed that the first meeting between the two sides took place the previous week.

Kane acknowledged that there are still several issues to resolve before an agreement can be reached. With his current deal set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 campaign, the striker indicated that the decision would be significant given his age and the potential length of his next contract.

The former Tottenham forward, who moved to Bayern in 2023, made it clear that he would be happy to continue his career in Munich. However, he stressed that both the player and club need to be satisfied with the final terms and that there is no urgency to complete the negotiations.

Bayern have previously expressed their desire to keep Kane at the club. Sporting director Max Eberl and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen have both indicated that the club and player are keen to find common ground over a new agreement.

Kane has enjoyed an extraordinary spell in Germany since his move from Tottenham. He has become one of Bayern's most prolific scorers and has finished as the Bundesliga's leading scorer in each of his first three seasons with the club.

His 2025/26 campaign was particularly impressive, with Kane scoring 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances as Bayern secured the league and cup double. He also continued his excellent international form with England during the 2026 World Cup.

The striker is now among the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or, with this year's ceremony scheduled to take place in his native London.

Bayern's emphatic victory over Stuttgart provided an ideal start to their title defence, while Kane's latest comments will reassure supporters hoping to see their star striker remain in Bavaria for several more seasons.
