As excitement builds for the 2025 President Federation Cup final, Kwara United Football Club has received a powerful morale boost from the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR. The royal father hosted the team at his palace ahead of their decisive clash against Abakaliki FC, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
During the reception, the Emir urged the players to remain focused, united, and determined as they prepare to represent Kwara State on the national stage.
“I was once an official of Shooting Stars and the Nigeria Football Federation. I know what is at stake in a crucial match like this. Prepare well, remain focused, and stay united. We will continue to pray for your success,” the Emir advised.
He commended the team for their resilience and progress, emphasizing that a victory would bring immense pride to the Ilorin Emirate and the state at large.
Also speaking, Mallam Idris Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, Chairman of the Kwara State Football Association, described the royal blessing as a consistent source of motivation for the team. He assured that, should the team lift the trophy in Lagos, the palace would be the first place they would bring it in appreciation.
As part of the royal visit, a special prayer session was led by Justice Idris Haroon, former Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, reinforcing the spiritual and communal support behind the team.
With unwavering state-wide encouragement and royal backing, the Harmony Boys are fully geared to make history by clinching the 2025 Federation Cup title and bringing glory back to Kwara State.
