Hansi Flick Warns Barcelona Against Losing Focus After Perfect Start

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has warned his players not to become complacent despite their outstanding start to the 2026/27 campaign. The Spanish champions have won their opening five matches in all competitions, scoring 22 goals while conceding only three.

Barcelona head into Sunday's LaLiga trip to Levante with maximum points from their first four league matches. Their impressive run also includes a 5-1 Champions League victory over Feyenoord, underlining their attacking strength under Flick.

Flick believes the team's current success is built on its attitude, intensity and concentration. He stressed that Barcelona must reproduce those qualities in every match if they are to maintain their momentum.

The German coach also highlighted the depth of his squad, noting that Barcelona now have several options for every position. He believes that competition within the team can help maintain standards as the season becomes increasingly demanding.

Raphinha has been particularly influential during the early weeks of the campaign, leading Barcelona's scoring charts with eight goals. Lamine Yamal has also made a major contribution with five goals, while Fermín López has added four.

Barcelona's defensive improvement has also played a role in their strong beginning. The club's official figures show that Flick's side have conceded only two goals in their first four LaLiga matches, while their overall tally across five competitive games stands at 22 goals scored and three conceded.

Despite the early success, Flick insists there is still plenty of room for improvement. He has urged the squad to retain its hunger and continue developing rather than allowing the praise surrounding the team to affect its mentality.

Winning the Champions League remains Barcelona's major ambition, with the club having last lifted the trophy in 2015. Flick also acknowledged the importance of defending the LaLiga title and believes a third consecutive league championship would represent another remarkable achievement.
