Gusau emphasized that the team’s resilient spirit—one that powered them through the qualifiers—remains intact. He confirmed that both the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the NFF are working closely to ensure thorough preparation for the crucial encounters. Nigeria will face Gabon on Thursday, November 13, before a potential final showdown against the winner between Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, November 16.
“Everything is being done by the NSC and the NFF to ensure no detail is overlooked. The same determination that helped the team secure the four goals needed against Benin Republic will drive them to success in the play-offs,” Gusau stated.
He also revealed that the team’s training camp will open in Rabat, Morocco, on Sunday, November 9, with players already in communication with the federation. According to him, every logistical and technical preparation is being made to boost the team’s morale and performance.
“The players are highly motivated. Every professional footballer dreams of playing at the World Cup, and this goal will push them to give their best,” he added.
The Super Eagles will take on Gabon’s Panthers at either the El-Barid Stadium (18,000 capacity) or the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex (22,000 capacity), both in Rabat. The CAF Play-off Final is scheduled to take place at the Stade Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that a draw will be held on Thursday, October 30, to determine which semi-final matches will take place at each venue.
