No fewer than 32 teams have been confirmed for the 2024/25 Lagos Divisional Football Association (LDFA) League, set to kick off later this month at the iconic Maracana Stadium in Ajegunle.
The teams have been drawn into four groups of eight, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the Super Eight playoff, which will determine the two representatives for the Lagos State League.
At the draw ceremony held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium), LDFA Chairman Saheed Bakare commended the Organizing Committee, led by Technical Committee Chairman Remmy Awosanya, for their dedication and professionalism in conducting the draws.
Bakare assured that the LDFA is committed to delivering a hitch-free tournament, with top-notch officiating, adequate security, and strict adherence to league regulations. He described the competition as a vital platform for grassroots football development in Lagos.
Representatives of participating clubs were in attendance and expressed optimism that the tournament will give young talents a chance to be scouted by professional clubs.
The league is scheduled to run for three months, with all matches holding at the Maracana Stadium, Ajegunle.
