Nasarawa Amazons will be aiming to strengthen their chances of advancing from Group B when they face Enugu Rangers Women in their final fixture at the Governor Douye Diri Women’s Pre-Season Football Tournament in Yenagoa.
The Lafia-based side has collected one win, one draw and one defeat from three matches and will need a positive result against the Nigeria Women’s Football League newcomers to finish their group campaign strongly.
The encounter at the Government House Polo Field on Thursday will also provide the Amazons with an important test of their preparations ahead of the new NWFL season.
Having already assessed different combinations during the tournament, the technical crew is expected to use the fixture to further evaluate the squad while giving both established and new players valuable playing time.
The Amazons will also be looking to improve their understanding and tactical cohesion as they build towards the defence of their national status following their 2026 Women’s President Federation Cup triumph.
Standing in their way are an ambitious Enugu Rangers Women side determined to make an impression in their maiden appearance among the country’s elite women’s clubs.
The Rangers have combined emerging talents with experienced players and are expected to approach the encounter with confidence after showing commitment in their previous matches.
For Nasarawa Amazons, however, the immediate objective will be to secure the best possible result and end their Group B campaign on a high.
Victory would not only boost their prospects in the tournament but also provide the Lafia Landladies with additional confidence as preparations intensify for the forthcoming NWFL season.
The match is scheduled for the Government House Polo Field, Yenagoa.
