Golden Eaglets Set for Seven-Day China Training Tour Ahead of WAFU B Qualifiers

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets will embark on a seven-day training tour of China next week to intensify preparations for upcoming international assignments. The youth national team is currently training at the Goal Project Pitch in Abuja. This foreign camp aims to expose the technical crew to emerging talents and test tactical strategies against high-quality opposition.

The traveling squad will feature a diverse mixture of recently invited prospects and highly-rated under-15 starlets. These younger players remain fully eligible to represent Nigeria at the under-17 level. The Nigeria Football Federation expects this strategic development trip to accelerate team chemistry and build critical international match experience.

Head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere is currently spearheading the rigorous selection process in the nation's capital. He is supported by a technical crew that includes assistant coaches Olumide Ajibolade, Mohammed Kachala, and Abdullahi Isa. The coaches want to use the tour to establish a strong tactical foundation before competitive regional games begin.

The primary focus remains the upcoming West African Football Union B Boys Championship. This regional tournament serves as the official qualifying pathway for the 2027 Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations. The Nigerian delegation is desperate to secure a continental ticket after failing to qualify for the last two editions of the tournament.

The administrative team believes that early exposure to different playing styles will benefit the youngsters. Playing elite Asian opposition will test the defensive resilience and attacking fluidity of the current group. This proactive training approach represents a major step in restoring Nigeria's historical dominance in global cadet football.
