Galatasaray Reject Historic ₦189 Billion Atletico Madrid Bid For Victor Osimhen

Turkish Süper Lig champions Galatasaray have made a bold statement in the summer transfer window. The Istanbul-based club rejected a stunning €120 million bid from Atletico Madrid for star forward Victor Osimhen. The Spanish La Liga club identified the 27-year-old marksman as their premier summer target.

The multi-billion Naira bid comes as Atletico Madrid prepares for a potential squad shakeup. The Spanish outfit faces the possibility of losing key attackers Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth to rival European giants. However, Galatasaray management immediately dismissed the approach to ensure their talisman remains in Turkey.

Osimhen enjoyed a sensational campaign after finalizing a permanent €75 million transfer from Napoli last summer. The Nigerian international registered 22 goals and eight assists across 33 appearances in all competitions. His exceptional attacking form propelled the club to a historic fourth consecutive domestic league title.

The hierarchy in Istanbul remains completely aligned regarding the long-term future of their superstar. Club President Dursun Ozbek recently declared that they have absolutely no intention of selling the world-class striker. Ozbek added that the forward is fully settled and happy continuing his career in Turkey.

The Turkish powerhouse further consolidated their firm negotiating position by clearing all historical debts. The club recently completed their final €17.5 million installment to Napoli ahead of schedule. This early payment eliminates any external financial liabilities connected to the original record-breaking transfer.
