Galatasaray Reject €130m Al Hilal Offer for Victor Osimhen

Posted : 14 August 2026

Galatasaray have rejected a verbal €130 million offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen. The approach was reportedly made through an intermediary on behalf of the Saudi club, but Galatasaray have made clear that they do not want to sell the Nigerian forward this summer.

The size of the proposal highlights Osimhen's growing value since his permanent move to Galatasaray. The Turkish champions paid Napoli €75 million for the striker in July 2025, making him the most expensive signing in Turkish football at the time.

Osimhen has since become a key figure in Galatasaray's attack. He has reportedly scored 59 goals in 74 appearances for the Istanbul club, strengthening his position as one of the most important players in their squad.

Al Hilal's interest reflects the Saudi club's continued pursuit of elite attacking talent. Osimhen's pace, strength and ability to lead the line would provide another powerful option for the Riyadh side, but Galatasaray have so far refused to open the door to negotiations.

The €130 million proposal would also have had major significance in African transfer history. Reports earlier in the summer indicated that Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande's move from RB Leipzig to Real Madrid was worth around €120 million, with other reports placing the total value as high as €125 million.

That means an accepted €130 million deal for Osimhen could have placed the Nigerian above Diomande and at the top of Africa's transfer rankings. For now, however, the record-breaking move remains hypothetical because Galatasaray rejected the approach.

The decision is also important for Galatasaray's sporting plans. Osimhen remains central to their ambitions in domestic football and Europe, while his goals and physical presence give the Turkish champions a proven attacking threat.

There could still be further developments before the transfer window closes. Arsenal have also reportedly held talks with Galatasaray over a possible deal involving Osimhen, although the Turkish club's current position is that the striker is not for sale.

For Osimhen, the immediate situation is clear: despite Al Hilal's huge financial offer, the 27-year-old remains a Galatasaray player as the new season approaches.
