Funeral Rites For Samuel Chukwueze’s Mother Scheduled For May 29 In Abia State

The family of Super Eagles and Fulham forward Samuel Chukwueze has officially finalized the burial arrangements for his late mother. Prophetess Serah Chinyere Chukwueze passed away earlier this year at the age of 59 following a brief illness. The final rites will take place on Friday, May 29, 2026, in her hometown of Umuahia, Abia State.

Her passing in late January triggered widespread grief across the international and domestic football communities. The news was initially made public by the player's siblings via their social media platforms. High-profile national figures immediately sent messages of support to the mourning family during that difficult period. Nigeria's President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extended his deepest condolences and prayed for the family's comfort.
