Fulham Retain Nigerian Trio As Raul Jimenez Departs In Major 14-Player Squad Cleansing

English Premier League side Fulham Football Club have begun a major squad restructuring ahead of the 2026/2027 season by confirming the departure of 14 players following the expiration of their contracts. The extensive clear-out marks the beginning of a significant transition period for the West London outfit; the club is currently searching for a new permanent manager following the exit of Portuguese tactician Marco Silva.

Mexican international forward Raul Jimenez headlines the list of high-profile departures from Craven Cottage after a three-year spell in London. The 35-year-old veteran forward leaves on a free transfer having registered 31 goals and six assists in 115 appearances across all competitions. German backup goalkeeper Steven Benda is also among those departing after making just four senior appearances; he spent the conclusion of the previous campaign on loan at Dutch side Feyenoord.

In contrast to the mass exits, Nigerian internationals Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey remain central to the club's future plans. Iwobi completed a productive season with four goals and 38 chances created in 29 league outings; Bassey also hit a milestone by recording his 100th appearance for the club. Meanwhile, youth forward Chibby Nwoko is part of a group of seven academy starlets who have been offered professional contract extensions to prolong their stay.

The club has also opened negotiations with Wales international winger Harry Wilson regarding a fresh contract to avoid losing him for free. Wilson enjoyed an excellent individual campaign by contributing 10 goals and seven assists despite intense transfer interest from Leeds United in January. Fulham have additionally triggered automatic extension options for four younger prospects; Luke Harris and Farhaan Ali Wahid will remain under contract for the upcoming term.

Furthermore, young defender Charlie Robinson has chosen to retire from professional football due to recurring issues. Robinson will immediately transition into a coaching role based at the club's Motspur Park training complex.
