Fortune FA Continue Impressive Run as Young Eleven Maintain Strong Challenge

Fortune FA continued their impressive start to the Nathaniel Idowu U-16 Football League with a commanding 6-0 victory over Bright Stars SA in Week 4. The result kept Fortune FA at the top of the standings with a perfect 12 points from four matches.

The league leaders have now scored 21 goals and conceded only once. Their latest victory further strengthened their position as the team to beat after four rounds of matches.

Fuad Oyesina was the standout performer against Bright Stars. He scored a first-half hat-trick, finding the net in the 17th, 35th and 43rd minutes.

Quadri Akanbi also produced an impressive display with two goals. He scored in the 10th and 50th minutes, while Odesola Odunayo completed the six-goal victory with a 73rd-minute strike.

Young Eleven FA remain the closest challengers to the leaders after beating St. Petersburg FA 2-0. Daniel Hameed opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Olatunji Michael added the second goal shortly before half-time.

The victory moved Young Eleven to 10 points from four matches. They have recorded three wins and one draw, leaving them two points behind Fortune FA.

St. Petersburg remain on six points after suffering their second defeat of the campaign. They had previously recorded victories in Weeks 2 and 3.

SC Heritage also continued their progress with a 2-0 victory over Divinely Blessed. Norbert Jonathan put Heritage ahead in the 30th minute before Joshua Garba secured the points with a late goal in the 90th minute.

The result was Heritage’s second consecutive victory and lifted them to seven points. They are level with Ajegunle United, who suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Atico FA.

Azeez Yakubu gave Atico the lead in the 30th minute before Akinwale Ayoola doubled the advantage eight minutes later. The victory was Atico’s first of the season and moved them to four points.

Moore Wins FA also recorded their first victory after coming from behind to beat Seraphic FA 5-1. Wisdom Okafor put Seraphic ahead before Olatuga Pelumi, Sunday Maji, Quadri Yekini and substitute Korede turned the match around. Korede scored twice in the second half.

Week 4 produced 20 goals across five matches. With Fortune FA leading on 12 points, Young Eleven on 10 and SC Heritage and Ajegunle United on seven, the race at the top is beginning to take shape as the league moves toward Week 5.
