Former Turkish referee Ahmet Çakar has shared his views on the future of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, predicting that the forward will join Chelsea ahead of the 2025-2026 season.
Osimhen gained widespread recognition during his impressive loan spell at Galatasaray, where he showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the Turkish Süper Lig.
At just 26 years old, the striker scored 25 goals and assisted five times in 29 league matches, playing a key role in Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign and catching the eye of several top European clubs.
Among the interested parties are English Premier League side Chelsea and Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Hilal, with lucrative offers reportedly coming from the Middle East.
Despite the financial allure from Saudi Arabia, Çakar believes Chelsea is Osimhen’s most likely destination, highlighting the significance of playing in the Premier League at this stage in his career.
Çakar explained, "I say Osimhen will go to Chelsea. Playing in the Premier League at 26 is an important milestone, and he can still move to Saudi Arabia later in his 30s."
Osimhen’s potential move to England comes as he seeks to continue his rise among Europe’s elite forwards, even though he was notably left out of Nigeria’s squad for the March Unity Cup and will miss the upcoming friendly against Russia to rest after a demanding season.
