Nigeria’s U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, delivered a masterclass performance in their latest friendly match against Lakeside Queens FA. The team secured a commanding 5-0 victory as they ramp up preparations for their upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier. Head Coach Akeem Busari watched his side dominate every phase of the game at the training camp.
The scoring opened early in the 16th minute when Kemi Adekemi found the back of the net. She converted a clinical pass from Queen Joseph to give the national side an early advantage. The Flamingos maintained high pressure and constant ball possession throughout the first half.
Mary Dunstan doubled the lead in the 36th minute with a composed finish. This goal ensured the Flamingos went into the halftime break with a comfortable two-goal cushion. The technical crew used the interval to make tactical adjustments to increase the goal tally.

The rout was completed in the 67th minute by Ebube. She rose highest to connect with a corner kick delivered accurately by Idris. This final goal capped off a brilliant collective display by the entire squad.
The Flamingos now boast an incredible record of five wins and one draw in their last six friendly matches. During this impressive run, the team has scored 28 goals and conceded only twice. These statistics highlight the defensive solidity and attacking prowess of the current U17 group.
