Fiorentina Join Race to Sign Super Eagles Striker Tolu Arokodare

Posted : 13 July 2026

Serie A club Fiorentina have emerged as the latest side interested in signing Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, adding further competition for the Nigerian forward ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Arokodare's future at Wolverhampton Wanderers remains uncertain following the club's relegation from the Premier League. Although Wolves are preparing for life in the Championship, several European clubs are monitoring the 25-year-old's situation as the summer transfer window gathers pace.

The Nigerian joined Wolves from Belgian outfit Genk last summer after establishing himself as one of the Pro League's most prolific forwards. However, he found it difficult to reproduce that form in England, scoring only a limited number of goals during a challenging campaign that ended in relegation for the Midlands club.

Despite that setback, Arokodare continues to attract interest because of his physical presence, aerial ability and proven goalscoring record. According to reports in Italy, Fiorentina have now entered the race to sign the striker, joining Turkish clubs Trabzonspor and Galatasaray in the pursuit of his signature.

Wolves are understood to prefer keeping Arokodare as they aim for an immediate return to the Premier League. Club officials believe he can play a key role in their promotion bid, but they are also expected to consider offers that reflect the player's market value.

Trabzonspor were among the first clubs to make their interest known. The Turkish side are searching for a new striker after Felipe Augusto completed a move to Zenit Saint Petersburg, while uncertainty also surrounds the future of fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu, who has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Galatasaray are also looking to strengthen their attack following the expiration of Mauro Icardi's contract. The Istanbul giants view Arokodare as one of several options capable of adding depth and competition to their forward line ahead of another domestic and European campaign.

Fiorentina's interest could intensify the battle for the striker. The Italian club are keen to improve their attacking options after an inconsistent Serie A season and see Arokodare as a player with the potential to develop further in Italian football.

The former Genk striker is reportedly valued at around €20 million. An offer close to that figure could test Wolves' resolve, especially if the player expresses a desire to continue his career outside England.

On the international stage, Arokodare has become an increasingly important member of the Super Eagles setup. With ten senior caps for Nigeria, the striker is expected to remain part of the national team's plans as they prepare for upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the next Africa Cup of Nations.
