Finnish Club SJK Signs Nigerian Teenager Chinedu Umeh on Professional Deal

Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK), one of Finland’s top-tier football clubs, has officially signed 19-year-old Nigerian striker Chinedu Umeh on a professional contract.

The young forward, celebrated for his pace and clinical finishing, earned his promotion to the senior team after a series of impressive performances in training and youth sessions.

“We’re excited to welcome Chinedu officially to the senior squad,” a club official said. “He has shown great promise, and we believe he has the talent to grow into a key player.”

SJK, based in Seinäjoki, is renowned for its commitment to youth development and providing platforms for emerging talents—both local and international. Umeh now joins a growing list of young internationals who have used the Veikkausliiga as a springboard to more prominent European leagues.

He is expected to continue his integration with the first team and could make his senior debut this season, depending on his progress and match fitness.
