Finalists Emerge for TFA Future Liga 2026 Grand Finale

Eighteen youth teams have secured places in the grand finale of the TFA Future Liga 2026 after more than 100 teams competed in the playoff stages. The tournament is organised as a platform for young footballers to compete and develop their skills.

The grand finale is scheduled for August 24 to 29, 2026. The competition will feature the Under-11 and Under-13 categories, with teams competing in a six-a-side format.

The qualified teams include PASS FA, Blazer Football Academy, The Future Academy, FIT Youngsters Sports Academy and Mainlander FC. Bright Future Stars, Young Stars FA, Elite Touch FA, Varsity FA and Fortune FA have also secured places in the final.

Strong Dove Football Academy, Excellent Star Football Academy, Adhoc Football Academy, Gaiters FC and Dazzle FC are among the other confirmed finalists. The remaining teams complete an 18-team field that will compete for honours during the final stage.

The playoffs provided a competitive route into the grand finale. Teams had to negotiate the knockout stage before earning their places among the leading youth academies.

Organisers said more than 100 teams entered the tournament. They added that the participating academies brought young players, coaches and ambitions to the competition as they chased qualification.

The tournament also provides an opportunity for young players to face opponents from different football programmes. For many of the participants, the finals will offer valuable competitive experience at youth level.

The TFA Future Liga has continued to focus on youth development since its previous editions. The 2025 tournament featured eight teams from Lagos, including The Future Academy, Dazzle FC, Varsity FA and AustenPlus FC.

The organisers have previously described the competition as more than a tournament. The Future Liga is designed to promote teamwork, discipline and leadership while giving young players a platform to display their ability.

The 2026 edition has expanded significantly from the previous year. The increase to more than 100 participating teams before the playoffs reflects the growing interest in structured youth football competitions.

Attention will now turn to the grand finale from August 24. The U-11 and U-13 teams will compete across six days as they seek to finish the tournament as champions and attract further attention from coaches and talent scouts.
