FIFA Confirms U-17 Women's World Cup Semi-Final Fixtures as Nigeria Face Brazil

Posted : 02 November 2026

The semi-final fixtures for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco have been confirmed, with Nigeria's Flamingos set to face Brazil as the competition enters its decisive stage.

Both semi-final matches will take place on Wednesday, November 4, with four teams competing for places in Saturday's final. The fixtures feature an African representative, two Asian sides and Brazil, setting up an exciting battle for the tournament's championship.

Nigeria secured their place in the last four after defeating Venezuela 1-0 in Sunday's quarter-final. Captain Azeezat Oduntan scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 89th minute following a VAR review.

Midfielder Favour Nkwocha was named Player of the Match for her impressive contribution to the victory. The result took Nigeria into the semi-finals for the second time in their history, following their bronze-medal finish at the 2022 tournament in India.

Brazil also booked their place in the last four with a 2-1 victory over China. The South American side will now face Nigeria in a contest that offers the Flamingos an opportunity to reach their first-ever final.

The other semi-final will see Japan face defending champions North Korea in an all-Asian encounter. Japan defeated Ghana 1-0 in the quarter-finals, while North Korea secured a convincing 3-0 victory over the United States.
