FC Ebedei Begins Three-Month European Development Tour

Posted : 03 July 2026

FC Ebedei has arrived in Denmark to begin a three-month training and development tour designed to improve the club's players and coaching staff through exposure to European football.

The delegation is led by Club President Barrister Churchill Oliseh and General Manager and Head of Youth Development Coach Fredrick Oliseh. Head coach Ifeanyi Emeghara, assistant coaches and several of the club's promising young players are also part of the travelling contingent.

The team departed Nigeria shortly after completing its Nationwide League One (NLO) playoff campaign on Wednesday and arrived safely in Denmark on Thursday. The European programme is expected to provide valuable experience for both the players and technical staff.

In addition to Denmark, FC Ebedei will visit Sweden, Spain and Portugal during the tour. The itinerary includes training sessions, football development programmes and other activities aimed at exposing the players to different coaching methods and competitive environments.

A major focus of the tour is the development of the club's coaches. Members of the technical crew will participate in advanced coaching education, certification courses and capacity-building programmes under experienced European instructors and youth football specialists.

The coaching programme will combine classroom learning with practical sessions on the training pitch, allowing participants to study modern coaching techniques and apply them throughout the three-month programme. The club believes the experience will strengthen its long-term player development structure.

Before leaving Nigeria, the FC Ebedei delegation shared a memorable moment with former Super Eagles captain Austin "Jay-Jay" Okocha at the departure lounge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Okocha praised the club's continued investment in youth football and encouraged the young players to remain disciplined, work hard and make the most of the opportunity to develop in Europe. He also spent time interacting with the squad before they boarded their flight.

Speaking after the meeting, FC Ebedei Director of Football Babatunde Oladeinde described Okocha's visit as a source of inspiration for the players and officials. He said the football legend's encouragement would motivate the team throughout the tour.

FC Ebedei has earned a strong reputation for producing talented footballers, and the club hopes the European programme will further enhance its player development model while preparing its coaches and young prospects for future success.
