Excitement Builds Across Selected Venues as 2026 President Federation Cup Round of 64 Commences

Posted : 19 May 2026

The 2026 President Federation Cup national finals have officially commenced with intriguing Round of 64 fixtures scheduled to take place across the country. The matches are scheduled to hold between Tuesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 21, 2026. The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the grand finale of this season's knockout tournament will be hosted at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

A historic northern derby between Wikki Tourists FC and Jigawa Golden Stars headlines the stellar lineup of opening-round matches in Kaduna. Defending champions Kwara United are seeded as the number one team after winning their maiden title on penalties last year. The holders will kick off their official title defense against local academy team Sporting Supreme U-19 in Anyigba, Kogi State.

Meanwhile, multi-titled continental heavyweights Enyimba FC will travel to Abuja to battle regional outsiders El-Sharma FC at the Bwari pitch. Fellow powerhouse Rivers United face an interesting battle against Lagos-based grassroots team G12 FC in Benin City. Last season's losing finalists Abakaliki FC will look to go one step further this year as they take on ABU DLC in Makurdi.

Former champions Rangers International have also declared their total readiness for the prestigious national tournament. The high-flying Enugu-based club will face a difficult test against Nigeria National League team Godswill Akpabio FC at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. Rangers last won the famous domestic trophy back in 2018 and narrowly lost out in the semi-final stage last season.

Akwa United head coach Paul Offor has expressed solid confidence ahead of their opening match against regional runners-up Wilbros FC in Aba. Offor revealed that his players have been working incredibly hard to target a historic third Federation Cup crown for the Uyo-based club. Other notable ties include a premier division clash between Kebbi United and Shooting Stars in Abuja, while underdogs Ahudiyannem FC attempt to stun Plateau United in Makurdi.
