Head Coach of the Super Eagles B, Eric Chelle, has announced the final 23-man squad for the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will be held in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from August 2 to 30, 2025.
Team captain Junior Harrison Nduka headlines the list, which also includes defender Sikiru Alimi and striker Godwin Obaje. Other notable names are goalkeeper Henry Ozoemena Ani, defenders Sodiq Ismaila and Stephen Mayo, midfielders Hadi Haruna and Alex Oyowah, and forwards Anas Yusuf and Ijoma Anthony.
The team is scheduled to depart Nigeria for Zanzibar on Thursday evening aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight. They have been undergoing intensive training at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has arranged a second-phase training camp in Zanzibar from July 25 to 31. Additionally, two friendly matches have been lined up against the Senior National Team of Zanzibar on July 28 and July 31 to sharpen the team’s preparedness.
Nigeria, silver medallists in 2018 and bronze medallists in 2014, have been drawn into Group D of the 19-team tournament, alongside reigning champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo. The Super Eagles will play their first two matches against Senegal and Sudan at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar before facing Congo at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
