2026/2027 Euro-Match NPFL: Enyimba Target First Win as Deutsch Eyes Fourth Straight Inter Lagos Defeat

Enyimba International FC Technical Adviser Emmanuel Deutsch says his team is determined to secure its first victory of the 2026/2027 Euro-Match Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season when they host Inter Lagos on Sunday.

The Matchday Four encounter is scheduled for the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, with kick-off fixed for 4 p.m.

Enyimba are yet to record a win after their opening two matches, having picked up results that fell short of their expectations in their away fixtures.

Deutsch, however, said the team remained focused on turning its fortunes around in front of its home supporters.

“On Sunday, it has to be the opening victory for all our fans. We have prepared to get the three points on Sunday,” he said.

The coach played down concerns over Enyimba’s early-season results, insisting that the team’s failure to secure positive results away from home did not call for panic.

“There’s no fire on the mountain. We played two away games and thought we would come home with a good result, but unfortunately, we did not get what we wanted,” Deutsch said.

While expecting a determined Inter Lagos side, who have lost their opening three matches, Deutsch believes Enyimba have what it takes to compound the visitors’ difficult start.

“I know Inter will come in full force because they have lost their first three matches, and we’ll add to their losses,” he said.

Sunday’s encounter will be the first meeting between Enyimba and Inter Lagos, with both clubs seeking maximum points as they continue their respective campaigns.

For Enyimba, victory would provide an opportunity to launch their season in front of their home supporters, while Inter Lagos will be looking to end their losing run.
