A bullish nine-time league winner, Enyimba International FC, has disciplined Oluyole Warriors with a commanding 3-0 victory in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 19 clash at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.
The Peoples Elephant dismantled the Oluyole Warriors courtesy of Ufere Chinedu’s early strike in the 16th minute, Edidiong Ezekiel’s clinical finish in the 85th minute, and Chidera Michael’s late insurance goal in the 90+6th minute—a testament to the team’s hard work and strategic planning.
Speaking after the match, Enyimba FC’s interim coach, Lawrence Ukaegbu, declared that the victory will propel the team to greater heights in the second half of the league.
He noted that the win has boosted the squad’s confidence and reignited their title ambitions.
“This victory is a boost to our confidence, and I can assure you we will perform even better in the second phase of the league. The scores and the win were meant to help us step up on the table. That was our plan—to start the new year with victory, and as God willed, we scored the three goals we desired,” Ukaegbu said.
“The league is just beginning. We’ve completed the first phase, and Enyimba will explode in the second round. We aim to finish very high on the log,” he added.
On Enyimba’s improved attacking consistency, which has seen them score more goals even in away matches, Coach Ukaegbu attributed it to tactical adjustments, careful planning, and meticulous preparation.
“We went back to the drawing board, made some tactical changes, and executed our plan to perfection. You can see that even in away games we are scoring, and we intend to consolidate this form,” he noted.
Looking ahead, Coach Ukaegbu emphasized that the team will continue working towards their ultimate goal of finishing at the top, reaffirming that Enyimba FC’s ambition to win the league is still very much alive.
With the first phase of the league behind them, the stage is set for a thrilling second phase, and Enyimba FC, according to Coach Ukaegbu, is poised to make a strong run-in.
