England‑Born Samuel Amo‑Ameyaw Completes Permanent Move to Strasbourg

Posted : 26 June 2025

Samuel Amo‑Ameyaw, the England-born winger of Ghanaian descent, has officially signed a permanent contract with RC Strasbourg Alsace following a productive loan spell from Southampton FC.

Amo‑Ameyaw originally joined Strasbourg on loan in February 2025, with the deal including an obligation to buy this summer, as confirmed by BBC Sport and the club announcements. During his loan, the 18-year-old featured in Ligue 1 and made an immediate impact, scoring two goals in his first nine league appearances .

Most notably, he netted a crucial late goal against Olympique Lyonnais, securing a 4–2 home victory in March. His performances also included a standout moment against OGC Nice, earning widespread praise from manager Liam Rosenior, who remarked:

“As soon as you mention his name, I smile… He’s a great talent, who already has exceptional maturity for his age”.

The permanent transfer marks a significant milestone for the young forward, who rose through the academies of Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton, making his senior debut with Southampton at just 16 years and 314 days.

Amo‑Ameyaw’s official signing cements Strasbourg’s long-term confidence in his development and underscores their strategy of nurturing emerging talents. The club will look to build on his exciting form as they prepare for the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign.
