Emiloju, Elite Stars Power into 1XCUP Knockout Spotlight

Emiloju FC and Elite Stars FC emerged among the standout teams at the 2026 1XCUP on Wednesday after recording identical 3–1 victories as the battle for quarter-final places intensified at Inspire Sport Arena.

Emiloju FC defeated New Hope Naija FC by the same margin, underlining their attacking strength and boosting their hopes of progressing in the competition.

Elite Stars FC also produced an impressive display to overcome Ighalo FA 3–1, ensuring they finished the day among the winners in the increasingly competitive knockout stage.

Hosts Inspire SA delighted their supporters with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Divine Praise FC, making home advantage count in their pursuit of the tournament title.

Joy Cometh FC completed the day's winners with a narrow 1–0 triumph over Vido 99 FC in a tightly contested encounter that highlighted the importance of defensive discipline and taking scoring opportunities.

The four results have added further intensity to the competition, with teams facing increasing pressure to deliver as the tournament approaches the quarter-final stage.
