El-Kanemi Warriors Step Up Squad Rebuilding for CAF Confederation Cup, NNL Challenge

El-Kanemi Warriors FC has stepped up efforts to strengthen its squad as preparations gather momentum for the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup and Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

The club's Team Manager, Coach Ibb, said after a training session that the management was focused on assembling a competitive squad capable of competing strongly on both fronts.

He disclosed that experienced players from various professional clubs had been invited to the team, with some already participating in training while others were expected to join in the coming days.

"We are doing everything possible to recruit quality players who will strengthen the team and make our supporters proud.

"Some of the invited players have already arrived, while others are expected soon. We are confident that everything will go according to plan, and we urge our fans to trust the process and believe in the positive changes ahead," he said.

The coach also urged supporters to rely only on official communication from the club's Media Unit, warning against speculation surrounding player movements.

He explained that the club would announce its retained players, those placed on the transfer market, and other squad decisions after the recruitment process had been concluded.

"Once all the necessary arrangements have been completed, the Media Director will officially release the list of retained players, those on the transfer market, and other squad updates.

"Our supporters will also witness the official unveiling of our new signings very soon," he added.

El-Kanemi Warriors are rebuilding following their relegation from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and are aiming for an immediate return to the top flight while seeking an impressive outing in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The club remains focused on strengthening its squad ahead of a demanding campaign on the domestic and continental fronts. With recruitment continuing, El-Kanemi Warriors will hope their new additions can help deliver promotion back to the NPFL and a strong run in the CAF Confederation Cup.
