El-Kanemi Warriors hand Damuli Investment first defeat in 3-0 friendly win

El-Kanemi Warriors FC continued their preparations for the 2026/27 football season and continental campaign on a winning note, defeating Damuli Investment FC 3-0 in a competitive friendly encounter.

The victory was particularly significant for the Warriors as it ended Damuli Investment FC’s unbeaten run, with the defeat reportedly their first since the club was established.

Coach King Emmanuel used the encounter to assess his squad, parading different combinations in both halves as the team continued to fine-tune its preparations for the challenges ahead.

The Warriors took control in the 32nd minute when Samuel Ganda finished clinically to give El-Kanemi a 1-0 lead.

Damuli Investment responded positively and pushed for an equaliser, but El-Kanemi’s defence remained organised to preserve the advantage until the interval.

The Warriors made several changes after the restart, bringing on a fresh line-up that included Henry Ndidi, their recent acquisition from Enyimba FC.

The changes paid dividends in the 64th minute when former Plateau United striker Habib produced a composed finish to double the Warriors’ advantage.

Damuli Investment continued to display attacking quality, with Falanka, Mosey and Mara among those who impressed with their individual performances, but El-Kanemi maintained control of the contest.

Ndidi then rounded off the scoring in the 76th minute with an impressive finish, completing a 3-0 victory for the Warriors.

Beyond the scoreline, the friendly provided El-Kanemi with another opportunity to test their squad depth, assess new arrivals and build match fitness ahead of a demanding campaign.

The performance also offered encouragement to the club’s supporters, who passionately backed the team throughout the encounter.

With preparations continuing, El-Kanemi Warriors will be hoping to build on the victory as they gear up for the 2026/27 season and their continental commitments.
