El-Kanemi Warriors Receive Government Support, Unveil New Signings Ahead of 2025/2026 NPFL Season

Ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, the Borno State Government has bolstered El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club by donating a brand-new Toyota Sienna vehicle for the team’s technical crew.

 

Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Comrade Saina Buba, confirmed the development, stating that the new vehicle will ease logistics and improve the working conditions of the club’s backroom staff.

 

Buba reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to sports development in Borno State and assured fans that more support is underway.
 

"Governor Zulum is fully committed to providing everything needed to uplift El-Kanemi Warriors FC and other sports institutions in the state so we can compete favorably at the national level," he stated.

 

Excited fans welcomed the gesture. One supporter, Ali Zakariya, said: "I’m happy seeing this new car. I know it’s the handiwork of Comrade Saina Buba. That’s why he’s the best among the best."

 

The Chairman of El-Kanemi Warriors FC, Malam Ibrahim Maina Mustapha, expressed gratitude to both the Governor and the Commissioner, commending their efforts in transforming the club into one of Nigeria’s premier football institutions.

 

In a related development, the club officially unveiled a strong lineup of new signings at the Colonel Abdulmumin Aminu Camp in Maiduguri, which also serves as the team’s secretariat.

 

All new players have agreed to personal terms and have been fully integrated into the Mighty Warriors' squad. The additions are aimed at boosting the team's depth, competitiveness, and overall performance in Nigeria’s top-flight league.

  13. Zakka John – Doma United
  14. Mas’ud Danjuma – Remo Stars FC
  15. Sale Bunu – Setraco FC

The club also hinted that more players are expected to join before the close of the transfer window.
