The match, held at the El-Kanemi Warriors FC Stadium, saw thousands of passionate supporters cheering on the Desert Warriors, led by Coach Kabiru Dogo.
El-Kanemi Warriors dominated the opening exchanges, controlling the first 35 minutes of the game. The visitors, Ikorodu City, were reduced to ten men after their player wearing jersey number 33 received a red card for a reckless tackle on Muktar Ismail. Both teams made tactical adjustments, but El-Kanemi Warriors continued to dominate. Ikorodu City’s goalkeeper delivered a heroic performance, making several fine saves to keep his side in the game.
The decisive moment came in the 89th minute. Bashir Mai Aljana’s shot hit the woodwork, and Muktar Ismail reacted fastest to the rebound, calmly heading home to give El-Kanemi Warriors a well-deserved lead. Five minutes of added time were played before the final whistle confirmed the victory.
